Don Boyall's photograph of the staff ( late 50s )
The Glass panels to Mr Smith's office.
Deputy Head Mr Smith, affectionately remembered by his nick name Brillo, worked from this room in the late 60s early 70s.
It was in this office that D of E meetings took place.
The office looks a little different now:
It's current occupants take responsibility for helping students with difficulties - they made me very welcome on my visit.

(The 'sliding doors' into C Block as they look today)
Being a Prefect at this point was good fun - you could control access to the school.
Mr Nunnerly's art room - on the first floor of A Block. This floor had a different design to others - it did not have a through corridor.
I remember Mr Nunnerly as a kind person - he was quiet spoken but very supportive.
The A Block stair well. A quiet place today but very different in the early 70s as kids flew in all directions!
No change here - this raised desk was where Mr Watters enthralled me with his own brand of Chemistry.
I remember him making the poisonous gas Hydrogen Sulphide in massive quantities inside these fume cupboards.
I went on to teach chemistry. The course of my life was set in this room!
The A Block Stairs where spitting was a pass time for many! You could get yours to fall though all 5 floors if you were skillful!
Are kids nice!!!!!!
The Chetham Hall sign still hangs in C Block.
This stair well is in C Block and has not changed much over the years.
The quad outside Hulme Hall.
Top Corridor outside what was the French Room ( Mr Graham )
I hope you enjoyed looking at these photos of the old place
