Hello, I'm Rod Smith, and these are my memories of growing up in Northenden,
a suburb of Manchester, England. Anyone who has lived in Manchester would know
what "smashin" means! The stories cover the school and teen years in
the 1940s/50s. I hope they bring back some happy recollections for you too.
