Second Year Camp

1979

In 1979 a number of teachers and pupils from Highfield High School in Blackpool traveled to Torver on the shores of Coniston Water.

Paul Sankey, Ray Williams, Graham Fielding and John Lyne, together will a number of helpers and pupils, started to erect the 'Tented Village' that was to become home, for a week, to over 100 Second Year pupils.

Second Year Camp was born.

Ex-Student  Ian Deuchars ( left 1979)  recently called into school and brought with him some photographs taken as the first ever Second Year Camp was prepared.

The rest, as they say, is history.
