Some questions and answers about Learning Mentors.

Q    What do learning mentors do?

A    We help!

  

" My learning mentor helps me to set targets and keep them. Learning mentors 

are friendly and won't shout, they are more like friends than teachers"   India - Year 10

 

 

Q    What type of help?

A    Basically anything that will make your success in school more easy to achieve.

"It has helped me with my confidence around school and in lessons.  It has helped 

me get used to the school and its pupils.   Simon Year 10

 

Q    Can you give some examples?

A    We have been working at Highfield High since September  and we have helped students with the following problems:

 

"Its nice to have someone to listen to you"  Steven Year 9

 

 

Q    What happens if I ask for help?

A    Mr Hooper or Mr Young will arrange to meet you in the Library.

 

" We can meet you by appointment or you can come to one of our 'drop in' sessions.  The 

Library is a nice quite place for us to talk with you "   Mr Hooper - Mentor

 

 

"My learning mentor has helped me to get into higher sets"   Chelsea  Year 9

" My learning mentor has helped me a lot, and now I look on life in a whole new way."  Vicky Year 11
